Harrison and Hogan talked about creating a podcast during college to give some form to their wandering conversations. They never did. Then, Hogan created the show in 2020 while working at Seventh Street Christian Church. In early 2021 Harrison joined the show as a co-creator. After nearly 7 years of procrastination, Reading the Bible is Easy(ish) is here!
The show started after hearing from a few folks that facilitating a conversation about the Bible felt intimidating. Reading the Bible is easy- just crack it open and give it a try. But it's also challenging- the Bible is old, a translation, it deals with ancient cultures, it says some truly wild things, and it sits in the middle of centuries of tradition. So, reading the Bible is easy... ish. Each week, we try to open the door a little wider, giving a foothold to begin to engage a conversation.
